“Hello and welcome to Crystal Quench! My name is Kira and I am so excited to be sharing my new adventure with you. A little about me, I am from the small town of Coggon, Iowa, which is where my love for bartending and mixology was born. In 2006 my family opened a small bar and grill in Coggon. I learned everything from serving to bartending and even cooking! I cooked my first steak on the grill with my grandpa watching over my shoulder!! I learned so much about drinks and mixology from my aunt and father in those first few years. I then moved to Cedar Rapids and have been bartending, serving, and managing ever since! I completed my bachelor’s degree in 2013, but making drinks and meeting new people has always had my heart. I have been the General Manager of a bar and grill for the past few years now and am ready to use this knowledge to help make special moments for all of my clients.

Over the course of my 18-year career in the food and drink industry, I also discovered my passion for traveling! At first domestically (New York, California, Florida, etc.), but as soon as I had the opportunity to branch out, I traveled to Europe and later South America trying to learn about other cultures, and of course to try so many new drinks. 

I have found that whether I am working back home or traveling around the world, I will never tire of meeting new people. I love talking with strangers and learning anything and everything about their lives. 

Now I have decided to combine my travel bug and mixology background, so I may share it with you. I am taking my bartending and passion for people on the road! Join me in this exciting endeavor. Weddings, reunions, fundraisers, etc., wherever there are thirsty people, Crystal Quench will be there to mix up something refreshing (on ice or in conversation). I can’t wait to meet you!”
